Description:
The Instructor Development Course (IDC) combines the Assistant Instructor (AI) and Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) courses. Upon completion, participants can take the Instructor Examination (I.E.) to become PADI-certified instructors.

Requirements:

  • Certified Divemaster and EFR (last 24 months).
  • 18+ years old with a medical statement (last 12 months).
  • Certified diver for at least 6 months with 60 logged dives (100 needed for certification).

Duration: 10–14 days (includes EFR Instructor training).
Schedule: Courses offered in March, June, August, and November.

PADI OPEN WATER SCUBA INSTRUCTOR COURSE

The course is made up of two parts: the Assistant Instructor (AI) course and the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) course. By completing both you could attempt the Instructor Examination (I.E) and become a PADI Instructor!

To enroll into the IDC program you must:

  • Be certified Divemaster and as an Emergency First Response (EFR course completion within the last 24 months), or equivalent qualifications from another training organization (contact us).
  • Be 18 years old or more and provide a Medical Statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months.
  • Be a certified diver for at least 6 months.
  • Have 60 logged dives or more (to get certified you need a minimum of 100).

The IDC course is scheduled over 10 – 14 days including EFR Instructor course (required). Sailing Club Diver’s Senior Instructor-Trainer, working closely with Course Director + Pro-Team to offer top training.

Price: 1,250 USD

  • IDC Crew Pack + EFR Instructor Manual.  
  • PADI IDC Apllication fee + I.E fee + EFRI fee.

All PADI Instructors who have certified at least 25 PADI Divers and have earned at least five PADI Specialty Instructor certifications can be Master Scuba Diver Trainers. This rating is the next step up the professional ladder and is a prerequisite for IDC Staff Instructor.
