Enriched air, also known as nitrox or EANx, contains less nitrogen than regular air. Breathing less nitrogen means you can enjoy longer dives and shorter surface intervals. No wonder Enriched Air Diver is the most popular PADI® specialty.

Why do divers use enriched air?
The main benefit is that enriched air contains a lower percentage of nitrogen compared to regular air, meaning your body absorbs less nitrogen during a dive, leading to longer no-decompression limits.
With less nitrogen to manage, you can stay underwater longer before reaching your no-decompression limits.
Because you absorb less nitrogen, you can surface sooner and have shorter surface intervals between dives.
This is particularly beneficial for divers who want to do multiple dives per day on a diving trip
